The Quails returned from a highly successful weekend playing at Glastonbury where they performed on 4 stages including their own slot to a packed house on Friday night and then were asked to play in front of another maximum crowd in place of a high level band when they failed to turn up the following night! Simon Honywill who was head of music production on the Pyramid stage last year recently said of the band that they were "dynamite" and that he hadn't been this excited by a new band in years. In fact he's just posted the following message on their Facebook page: "This is the best band you'll hear this year - don't let them pass you by!" The new single "Argentina" from The Quails - "a band to look out for on the 2010 festival circuit for sure", is released August 2nd as the band continue their busy summer festival schedule and their album "Master of Imperfection" has just been released receiving high critical acclaim from all quarters of the media. They will also release "Fever" on October 4th (video below) {mosmudule module=quails} Last year The Quails opened for Muse on the first night of their Resistance Tour and supported The Kooks and Motorhead. In March they supported Newton Faulkner and K T Tunstall at The Altitude Festival in Meribel. This year they will be headlining Namfest alongside Toploader, confirmed as main support for The Futureheads at the Relentless Boardmasters Festival Main Stage, will support Athlete at Ivy Live, perform at the Gold Coast Ocean Festival, support The Automatic at Birmingham Uni student festival, and will play at The Latitude Festival on the Huw Stephens Lake Stage on 18th July - a total of 20 festival appearances for this summer including Beach Break Live, Relentless Boardmasters, Volksfest, Chagstock, Dartmouth Festival. Lead guitarist Max has also been cited as "the most gifted guitar student to pass through this college" by his tutor at Exeter Academy of Music and Sound. The band have agreed a BBC Radio 2 live session with Janice Long for August 26th and both their tracks have been added to the playlist at BFBS Radio
